In Oct 2018, a small team of wounded, injured and sick veteran will be taking part in an unsupported, end-to-end ride of the Munda Biddi Trail starting in Mundaring and through 1000km of trail riding to Albany. An Endeavour Fund alumni, Craig Preece (Invictus Games and AFPST) is one of the team members and will add a huge amount of knowledge and experience to the rest of the team.
The Munda Biddi runs for 1,070kms from just east of Perth (at Mundaring, in the Perth hills), Western Australia to Albany on the Southern Ocean. It runs entirely through the bush, except where it touches small townships. This trail provides 1000km of trail riding through an undeveloped natural corridor. Combining Western Australia’s vast areas of unspoiled forest and bushland, gentle terrain and year-round cycling weather.
In July 2018, the team went to a five-day training camp on the rough tracks of the eastern Pyrenees. This was a mini-Endeavour in itself, and invaluable preparation for the main ride. The training included mountain bike skills, bike mechanic training and nutrition.
