‘Team Endeavour Racing’ uses entry-level power boating (Thundercat Racing) to create an enjoyable and stimulating environment to develop, inspire and challenge in a demanding and difficult time while transitioning from the Armed Forces into a secure and rewarding civilian career. The project is solely managed, raced and supported by its own WIS personnel and veterans who thrive in a challenging marine environment.
After two successful years of racing the team has welcomed a new batch of novice racers into the team to train and complete at a national level of racing regardless of their background, injury or the adversity faced while transitioning away from the Military.
Team Endeavour Racing competes on a monthly basis where races are over weekends from April to October at various venues across the UK meaning it is a great competitive sport to fit around other commitments. With a friendly community atmosphere, surrounding the racing teams from the event organisers to supporters it is a fantastic place to learn and develop.
Throughout 2017 the team has developed a strong partnership with Marchwood Yacht Club (near Southampton) to offer multiple experience days for WIS, family and the wider community where they can really show the thrill and enjoyment in the sport. Just remember to hold on!
Open to Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) personnel and veterans, Team Endeavour Racing provides a foundation as a transition vehicle to support and empower its members into future employment, training or education with the help of its network, partners and with the use of peer mentoring.
