Operation Surf is a week-long adaptive surfing programme for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans. The programme is open to all, whether an injury stopped you from continuing your love for surfing or you’re keen to try a sport as part of your recovery.
Surfing can be a fantastic way to increase confidence and self-esteem, whilst being surrounded by people with similar goals. Throughout the week participants also learn different practical aspects of wellbeing and mindfulness, so that the recovery journey focuses on both physical and mental health.
Ex-Medic, Stacy joined Op Surf with no surfing experience, but the teams’ encouragement kept her motivated. She made incredible progress throughout the week, got up on the board and made important steps in her recovery. Watch the video below to learn more about her story.
