We’re delighted to be supporting Moving Forces on a project delivered by Greater Sport, to help veterans stay physically active during and after transition to civilian life.
Moving Forces and Greater Sport work with trusted partners to provide free or discounted activities, where veterans and their families interact, get active and socialise with other members of the armed forces community. Activities currently include football, climbing, yoga, Tai Chi, running groups, walking groups, family fun days, golf, sailing, kayaking and many more.
The aim of the project will ensure serving and ex-serving armed forces personnel, will be part of a community that values sport as a vehicle to improve physical and mental health.
Members of the project are also able to complete coaching qualifications in their chosen sport or activity, and in return these veterans will go on to deliver these activities to their communities.
We’re looking forward to sharing more on this programme over the next three years.
